On Thursday, 26 August, 2021, the EGM, the Pact for Transition, ANVITA and the OCU, founders of the Migration Alliance, met to propose a workshop during the Summer University of Social Movements in Nantes.  It was an opportunity to present the actions of the four organizations and to offer new perspectives on reception policies to people who came to discover  alternative governance of migration or who were looking for solutions for various associations or citizen initiatives.

The workshop proposed various topics with the common theme of the co-construction of public policies regarding the reception of exiled people.

More specifically, the topics discussed concerned

  • Examples of co-construction of local policies in France, presented by ANVITA and Le Pacte pour la transition.
  •  The presentation of the alternative governance of migration in the city of Sao Paulo in Brazil by the OCU and Espacio Sin Frontieras.
  • The common base of territories and the panoramas of the cities of Montreuil and Palermo carried out by the Alliance Migrations Volunteers, sources of inspiring examples in the co-construction of reception policies between local authorities and civil society.
  • The experience of the EGM of the South-Drôme concerning the fight for the care of isolated minors and young adults.

At the end of this workshop, the 30 participants as well as the speakers were able to exchange and propose ways to implement the solutions discussed during the workshop.

A day of enriching exchanges that once again confirm the dynamics and complementarity formed by the EGM, PACTE, OCU and ANVITA!

The report of the workshops can be found  here (French version).
